School Grounds Competition

London in Bloom encourages young people of all ages to become involved in projects to improve school grounds and increase environmental educational opportunities. The judging looks at the cultivation of flowers, fruit and vegetables together with conservation efforts on the site and what actions are taken to promote a sustainable approach to the environment. Judging usually takes place in early June for about an hour. The results are announced before the end of the summer term and every school entering receives a certificate with special awards being made to overall winners in each category.

We also wish to encourage schools to start growing vegetables and therefore have teamed up with the Capital Growth School Campaign. For more information about Capital Growth visit their web site.

Entry categories are:
Nursery/Primary
Secondary
Special Needs Schools
